Beatport Release Date 20-10-2009
Release Date 09-11-2009

Hi All,

This is another installment of the Dj Assassin Catalogue and instantly it has received a lot of attention from djs across the scene in the progressive and tech house circles. This single has lots of differnt flavours and presents a very neat pack for the discerning house listener. The first cut is a classic piece of house music that takes you back to the sound of 1989 with a mordern twist. An absolute killer acid bass line with jackin house beats and chords that could have been written by Mr Fingers of Steve Silk Hurley making it an anthemic acid house track. The second cut the (Deep dub) brings it all together with a bumping bassline and warm chords and a funky shoudler shaking groove that is warmth and uplifts you instantly. The third cut the (Strobe Mix) is an amazing simple house groove with attitude. Altogether a straight up house beat and rolling bass and haunting synth chords and chimes that just roll and roll. This is a mood maker perfect for big sound system as it just grooves. Just turn off the lights and turn on the strobe. A few noteable Djs have been playing this all summer and giving this track a lot of play and support. Anil Chawla, Jim Masters, Justin Harris, Tom Middleton,Murf Mongtrax, Jim Masters, Andy Newland & many more.

Hi All,

Yesterday we celebrated our first release on the infamous Beatport download site.

This new artist called Dependent Origination has joined the Recode Recordings Family and brings with him a style that keeps in tone with the label but musically allows him blend both samples, beats and synths to bring floor filling anthems.

Say What; Is an inspirational seven minute monster of thumping pure Chicago/ UK jacked up house with stomping beats, a huge baseline and tremendous horn stabs that instantly grab your attention.

Dj Mike Surreal Biog

DJ Mike Surreal

Mike started dj’ing back in the early 90's, with a 2 ½ year residency at Bar Cuba in London’s South Kensington. During that time he was also visiting some of London’s more underground and innovative nights such as Heart & Soul and Wiggle where the London ‘Tech-house’ sound was born. It was here that he was influenced by the music being played by DJ’s such as Eddie Richards, Mr C, Terry Francis & Nathan Coles. By 1995 he was playing at numerous parties and clubs in and around London including: Wiggle, Love Truth & Integrity, Kerfuffle, Swag, Fu DJ, The Gathering, Original Sin, Positive Sound System, Force 10, Pressure Point, The End, The Zap, The Concord, Rebound, A Way Of Life, Technology and many others. Playing his mixture of funky, deep, trippy, groovy, house and tech-house. Lots of big bass lines, crisp clean sounds, snappy percussion and emotive strings and pads.

In June 1996 Mike started ‘Surreal Recordings’ with Paul Culver (Swag Records) which provided an outlet for music made by himself and friends. Surreal was slow in developing but after a few years was firmly established as one of London’s key ‘Tech-House’ labels, and over the years played a small part in shaping the sound as it is known today.

In 1998 Mike began his second long term residency at the Optical nights he hosted every two weeks in Brighton which went on for three years before coming to a close. During that time he played alongside some of the worlds finest underground DJ’s including: Terry Francis, Eddie Richards, Nathan Coles, Mr C, Dave Angel, Dave Mothersole, Kenny Hawkes, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Chris Duckenfield, Colin Dale, Asad Rizvi & Richard Grey to name a few. Shortly after the Optical nights began Mike began taking his sound further afield and over the follow years played in the Czech Republic, Belgium, Macedonia, Kosovo, and further afield still in Isreal and Brasil where in 2001 he was voted the best International DJ by Rraurl (the country’s biggest Electronic Music web site).

Mike worked at Eukatech from July 2000 to July 2003 and along with Marco Lenzi and Nils Hess supplied London’s underground with the vinyl it craved. He was also an integral part of the Eukatech DJ’s playing at parties in clubs like The End, AKA, Ultimate Base and Renaissance.

After his initial success in Brazil Mike returned many times and began working with the Hypno Agency in July 2003 playing for a number of the country’s biggest and most respected names in electronic music including: D-Edge (Campo Grande, Sao Paulo), Lov.e (Sao Paulo), Propaganda (Porto Alegre), Fulltronic (Porto Alegre), Joy Lounge (Belo Horizonte), Na Sala (Belo Horizonte), Bloom (Passo Fundo), In Love (Curitiba), Garage (Campo Grande), Forum (Campinas), Diretorio (Criciuma), to name a few. He has also played in Uruguay and at Pacha in Argentina.
Mike is now living in Belo Horizonte in Brasil and has left the Hypno agency and is currently persuing a solo career.
